The MXR M-133 Micro Amp Pedal is the perfect addition to your setup if you are looking for a pedal that will boost your signal and gain levels. This is a great thing to have available when playing solos or when switching between guitars that have differing output levels. It can also be used to combat signal loss when you have a number of effects setup in a chain.

Controls:

The MXR could not have a simpler interface. It has only one control for Gain, and that is really all that you need from this pedal.

Performance:

This pedal does a great job of boosting your signal while also preserving the original tone of your guitar/amp setup. This is important for people who put a lot of time and money into their gear to get the perfect sound they are looking for. Even when bypassed, the MXR has no effect on your tone.

It is great for players who are using a Tube Amp and do not want to muddy their sound with an overdrive pedal, just to achieve some extra volume. The MXR acts like a master volume that will kick up your sound, and make you stand out when hitting your leads and solos.

My MXR Micro Amp pedal is a vital part of my effects chain. When you begin linking many different stomp boxes together like I do, the strength of your signal can sometimes degrade. This solves the problem by providing me with the ability to counter act this loss with some extra gain and volume.

The pedal can also provide some overdriven tones when cranking it up all the way, and playing it through the clean channel on your tube amp.

Recommended for: Boosting your guitar’s sound during lead/solo work.

Overall, this is a very simple pedal that is very good at what it does.
