Electro Harmonix Ravish Sitar
Written by admin on January 4, 2012 – 6:10 pm -Labelling the Electro Harmonix Ravish Sitar as anything less than revolutionary is harsh. Few instruments can compare with a Sitar in terms of harmony and dynamic flexibility and Electro Harmonix have quite literally made it possible to transform any electric or bass guitar into an authentic sounding sitar. It’s a truly unique concept allowing you to play representative scales, tones and even customising your own. The Ravish Sitar works by using a polyphonic lead voice, with sympathetic string drones that can be altered to suit the player and react dynamically to the notes played. The sympathetic keys can even be chosen from the guitar itself, to edit the tone of the Ravish Sitar you are blessed with a range of controls. Modulation control... more

Ernie Ball Hybrid Electric Guitar Strings Review
Written by admin on December 1, 2011 – 3:41 pm -I recently switched out the Ernie Ball 10′s I had on my Gibson SG with a new set of Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky Electric strings, and after a few weeks of playing them, I don’t think I’ll ever put anything else on my electric guitars again. I’ve always been an Ernie Ball player, and although I loved the thick sound the 10′s provided, I always struggled with nailing bends on the high end strings. I could hit them, but it never felt as effortless as it should have been. For decades, players have remedied this problem by combining two sets of strings, using a set of 10 gauges for the low E, A and D strings, and using 9′s for the G,B and high E strings. In the 70′s Jimmy Page even went as far as putting on... more

Sanyo Pedal Juice Review
Written by admin on October 13, 2010 – 8:51 pm -I was recently sent a Sanyo Pedal Juice to review, and after using it for a while, it’s definitely become a new part of my setup. If this is the first you’re hearing about this product, it is a portable power supply that can be used to power anything from distortion pedals to keyboards. It comes with two 9V outputs, and can last up to around 50 hours before it needs charged again. In my experience the Pedal Juice does a great job at holding its charge. I’ve only had to charge it once or twice after a few weeks of moderate playing. It is also very easy to use. It has a single on/off button which eliminates the need to unplug your pedals, and a 3 way LED that displays the current status of the charge. Although I haven’t... more

The current price range of these amps is also incredible. Blackstar is finally allowing for guitarists to get a high quality amp that is all tube, has great tone and the capability of being played very, very loudly. Before I get into the details about this amp, here’s a quick background on Blackstar, in case you’re new to the name. Blackstar was founded by Ian Robinson and Bruce Keir around 4 years ago. They were both part of Marshall’s R&D department, and when they left to start the company, they took several other Marshall employees with them. Blackstar still remains strongly... more
